My Story
When I select an item to restore, I see what it can be, not what it is. This is because when God chose me, He didn’t look at the scratches, scars, or where I wobbled. He looked at all my possibilities.
As I am restoring a piece, carefully repairing it, I remember how God carefully took all my broken pieces and put them together, replacing all that was missing, making me as good as new.
As I sand down the scratches and scars, it reminds me that sometimes God needs to sand down my imperfections. And while it is not a pleasant experience, it is a necessary one if I am going to be beautiful again. He also, needs to take me back to the point where there is no more decay or rot.
As I put the new stain and finish coats on to make the piece beautiful again and to protect it, I step back and am amazed at how it looks just like I saw it in the beginning. At this point, I thank God for seeing the good in me and taking the time to make me whole again and for protecting me. It, like the furniture, was worth all of the work.
